Alga Marie Spencer, 98, of Salem, VA passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at her residence.  She was born January 22, 1926 in Floyd County, KY to the late Arthur and Ethel Patten Hicks of Xenia, OH.  She was a past member of Sugar Grove Christian Church, Owingsville, KY and a Beautician in Charleston, WV.

She is survived by her son, Larry Spencer of Salem, VA; grandsons, Jason and Jeremy of Salem, VA; great granddaughter, Gabriella of Roanoke, VA; and great grandsons, Andrew of Roanoke, VA and Jonah of Salem, VA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Spencer; and brothers, Alvis of Huntsville, AL and Donavan of Xenia, OH.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Francis Nash officiating, burial following at Lovely Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-1 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Jason Spencer, Jeremy Spencer, Jonah Spencer, Tony Poynter, Barry McCoy and Ethan McCoy.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Ln.
