Obituary

Alger Thomas Daniel went to his heavenly home March 16, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.  He was surrounded by those that cherished him most.  Tom was born on August 19, 1944, to Bradley and Jessie Daniel.

Tom possessed many talents which were evident in his professional life.  He spent time working with Cadillac Gage as quality inspector.  He helped enrich the lives of many students as a vocational teacher at Clawson High School in Clawson, Michigan.  When the time came to take over the family farm, he and his family moved back to Mt. Sterling.  Tom was known as a quality breeder of Purebred Limousin Cattle.  He was a member of the Montgomery County Cattleman's Association and enjoyed spending time with other members at their monthly meeting and various events throughout the years.

Tom loved sports of all types and could carry on an in-depth conversation about almost any sport out there.  But when it came down to it, he was a True Blue fan and could be found cheering on his UK Wildcats whenever he had the opportunity.

As much as Tom enjoyed farming and sports, his heart belonged to the love of his life Thelma Jean (Sponcil) Daniel.  On May 1, 1966, Tom and Jean were married.  They spent 57 years loving and taking care of one another.

Tom survived by his wife Jean; son, Chris Daniel; granddaughter, Megan Daniel and her fiancé, Tre Garrett; and sister, Dorothy Jones, all of Mt. Sterling, KY.  He is also survived by many more extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.  Nieces, Donna Jones and Diane Johnson; and great nephew, Michael Johnson.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
