Aline "Ali" Wightman Carpenter, 72, of Mt. Sterling passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at St. Jospeh East Hospital.  She was born December 18, 1951 in Middletown, OH to the late Davis and Mavis Shoupe Ballard.  She was of the Christian faith and worked at KDMK.

She is survived by her son, Casey Wayne Carpenter of Mt. Sterling, KY; daughter Becky Jones (Matt) of Jeffersonville, KY; sisters, Geraldine Lewis (Ray) of Franklin, OH, Connie Baker (Ray) of Carlisle, OH, Mae Ballard of Franklin, OH, Kathy Graston of Pekin, IN, Lois Ferguson of Mt. Sterling, KY; grandchildren, Dakota Bryant (Emilee), Jaci Wightman, Austin Wightman and Kiera Beth Carpenter; and a great grandchild, Kaden Wightman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Tucker Wightman; and a brother, Gary Ballard.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Latimer officiating, burial following at Lovely Amburgey Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Larry Montgomery, Rocky Wilson, Roe Wilson, Dakota Bryant, Patrick Fitzgerald, Carl Graston, Austin Wightman and Patrick Fitzgerald II.
