Obituary

Alton Clell Neal, 88, of McCroskey Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.  He was born in Stanton, Kentucky on May 13, 1931 the son of the late Howard and Nannie Drake Neal.  He was a retired employee of the Lexington Blue Grass Army Depot, a veteran of the US Air Force, an avid fisherman and a member of the West Bend First Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Guy Neal of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Karen (Paul) Slemp of Mt. Sterling, KY; three stepchildren, Pauline Sanders of Paris, KY, Diane Boyd of Mt. Sterling, KY and Charles (Stacey) Griffith of Harrodsburg, KY; two brothers, Elvin (Betty) Neal  and Joe (Dee) Neal both of Stanton, KY; a sister, Mary (Rodney) Snowden of Estill County, KY; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Watkins.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Marion Fawns and James Combs officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery.  Friends may visit Tuesday from 1 pm- 2 pm at the Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.  Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 22. Pallbearers will be Johnny Pergram, Larry Griffin, Nathan Griffith, Daniel Sanders, Justin Hutchison and Rob Boyd.  Honorary pallbearers will be Elvin Neal and Joe Neal.  In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the West Bend First Church of God Building Fund, In honor of Alton Clell Neal, 8861 Winchester Road, Clay City, KY 40312 or Church of the Harvest, 2450 Osborne Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
