Anita Johnson, 83 of Bentbrook Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at her residence.  She was born in Sandy Hook, Kentucky on December 16, 1939 to the late Ernest Adkins and Maxine Fannin.   She was a member Rolling Hills Church of Christ and a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.  She retired from Commonwealth Urology as Insurance Billing Manager after 10 years.

She is survived by a son, James Kevin Johnson of Mt. Sterling, KY; a daughter, Kimbrley Barnes (Steve) of Mt. Sterling, KY; a sister, Nettie Coffey (Johnny) of Winchester, KY; and three grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Matt Johnson and Will Johnson; and several nieces and nephews that she loved.  Additional, she opened her home to exchange students, Emmanuelle Mathieu d'Arc, Alix Cassin Svtre (both of France), and Oliver Behling (Germany) and two young men: Hubert Rojas and Bryan Muehlenkamp.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Johnson Jr; two brothers, Delmas Adkins and Donnie Adkins; and a sister, Marylyn Lyons.

Funeral services will be held, 1 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Murphy officiating with burial following at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Matt Johnson, William Johnson, Jeff Coffey, Hubert Rojas and Bryan Muehlenkamp.  Honorary pallbearers Pat Zalone, Bill Roush and Joe Frazier.
