Arnold Franklin "Arnie" McFarland, 70 of Bethel, died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Born July 22, 1951, in Montgomery County, he was the son on the late Marshall F. McFarland and the late Lavania V. "Pug" McFarland.  He was a member of the Christian Faith, he was a retired farmer of 42 years and worked at Cooper Tire in Mt. Sterling.  He was in the Mason's for 45 years and also a past Master.  He loved playing golf, fishing, hunting, horseback riding and being with his friends.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Betty Hunt McFarland; a sister, Margaret M. Clark of Carlisle, KY; two special friends, Derek and Adam Buckler of Shurburne; nephews, Steven White, Freddie B. McFarland, Jr., Jamie McFarland and Eric McFarland; a niece, Kim McFarland; several great nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a host of cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Donathan; a brother, Freddie B. McFarland; a special niece, Victoria L. McFarland; and a nephew, Carroll D. White.

Services will be on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Bros. Roy Stacy and Ernie Tackett officiating at Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Sterling, burial at Longview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 5-7 PM with Masonic Rites with Wilson K. Wilder at 7 PM.  Pallbearers will be Billy Hunt, Stevie Guy, Ed Goldy, Freddie B. McFarland, Jr., Jamie McFarland, Eric McFarland, Dennie Ritchie and James Howard.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Shirley Grimes, Blackie Harmon, Keith Crouch, Mark Caudill, Walter Shrout and Donnie Manley.  Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
