Betty Lou Odem, 69, of Owingsville went home to the Lord on May 8, 2024 at St. Joesph Main Hospital in Lexington after a long illness.  She was an employee of Jockey International in Mt. Sterling for over 25 years.  She retired from there, later went on to college and got her Certified Medical Assistant degree and worked at Windsor care in Mt. Sterling for a couple of years before getting sick.

Betty was an active member of the Jeffersonville Assembly of God.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  Betty enjoyed taking rides and loved to shop, but more than anything she enjoyed being at home and spending time with her special fur baby Jack.

Betty is survived by her husband, Richard Odem of Owingsville, KY; son, Josh Chandler (Heather) of Mt. Sterling, KY; step-daughters, Amy Roland (Mark) of Owingsville, KY and Candra Mills (Joseph) of Mt. Sterling, KY; step-son, Adam Odem (Paige) of Owingsville, KY; nine grandchildren; sisters, Cathy Allen of Mt. Sterling, KY, Rachel Standfield (Doug) of Tampa, FL and Mary Ritchie of Mt. Sterling, KY; a brother, Steven Ritchie (Susan) of Mt. Sterling, KY; and her loving dog, Jack.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Greenville and Lois Ritchie; sister, Rita Ritchie; a grandchild, Kalyn Roland; and a nephew, Matthew Ritchie.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robbie Conn officiating, burial following at Mann Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1PM, Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Frankie Moore, Josh Moore, Bobby Roe, Mark Roland, Dave Smith and Adam Odem.
