Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Bobby Gene Bays took his last breath at his home on September 12 at the age of 78.  Son of Thurman and Ruth (McGuire) Bays.  Bobby grew up in Jeffersonville, Kentucky.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending the holidays with his family and riding his four wheeler with his dogs Coco and Samson.  He was an Army veteran and retired from The Walker Company.  He is preceded in death by two brothers Woodrow and Ray Bays; one sister Laura (Bays) Utterback and his grandson David "Bruiser" Prater.  Bobby will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life of 54 years, Joyce Meadows Bays of Jeffersonville, KY; children, Anthony Bays of Means, KY, Bobby Bays, Jr. (Kelly) of Mt. Sterling, KY,  Melissa Bays Thomas of Mt. Sterling, KY, Tina Bays Hamm (Phillip) of Paris, KY; five grandsons, Austin Hamm, Brannan Hamm (Sarah), Zackry Williams, Tyler Bays and Jesse Bays; two granddaughters, Kailan Culbertson (Cruz) and Elizabeth Bays (Grant); 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Ryleigh Culbertson; and by other loving family members and friends.  There will never be enough time or words to describe this incredible man, he will be missed dearly.  Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve McGuire and Pastor Ricky Meadows officiating, burial following at McGuire Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Phillip Hamm, Brannan Hamm, Austin Hamm, Zackry Williams, Cruz Culbertson and Grant Bryant.  A GoFundMe account is being setup by family through Facebook to cover funeral expenses.
