Brenda Joyce
Keath
Oct 20, 1943 — Dec 6, 2022
Brenda Joyce Keath, 79, of Mount Sterling passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born October 20, 1943 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Banford Dudley Wilson and Wanda Wilson Loving. She was a member of Living Water Church.
Anyone who knew Brenda loved her deeply for her vivacious spirit, her bear-tight hugs, and her contagious joy. Her one-liner jokes made your stomach hurt and never failed to brighten your day. She was always selflessly present to make the world a lighter, more cheerful place. When in her company, you were also always prepared to hear the truth. She was the matriarch of her family; everyone looked to her for honesty, comfort, laughter, and a safe space.
Brenda was a lover of Jesus and family, and she embodied her faith by being endlessly welcoming, kind, and loving towards every life she touched. Her home had a revolving door, and she shared her love through the meals she prepared for others (such as her famous fried chicken and homemade biscuits and gravy). She loved her country home– and always had several rocking chairs occupied with good conversation. She also enjoyed zipping around in her little Red Bug, valued her deep friendships, and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronny W. Keath of Mt. Sterling; son, Will Keath (Terri) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Rhonda Thomas (John) of Mt. Sterling, and Kelly Fulton (Ronnie) of Georgetown; two brothers, Dudley Wilson (Wanda) of Mt. Sterling and B.D. Wilson (Paula) of Henderson, KY; seven grandchildren, Caleb Thomas (Megan), Ethan Thomas (Kristen), Madison Fulton, Cameron Fulton, Bella Keath, Kendell Keath and Korbyn Keath; and four great grandchildren, Colin Thomas, Teagan Thomas, Levi Thomas and Emily Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Kendell Everett Keath; and her sister, Mary Melissa Wilson Ballard.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Living Water Church with Pastor Grant Cannoy, Brother Larry Mullins and Brother Doug Marksbury officiating. Burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM, Monday, December 12, 2022 at Living Water Church. Pallbearers will be Billy Keath, Willie Reffitt, Stanley Willoughby, Chris Carson, Bryan Puckett, Gary Cockrell, Benny Whisman and Jerry Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Tina Garland, Barbara Leggett, Carolyn Sue Whitaker, Lois Ricketts, Lida Craft, Connie Barnett, Sue Parrish, Karen Abney Palmer, Violet Elliott, Lorene Trimble, Ida Tyra, Wanda Wilson and Vickie Skidmore.
