Cathy Jo Edwards, 56, of Mt. Sterling passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital Lexington.  She was born June 23, 1968 in Lexington to the late Otto Carl Townsend and Dorothy Mae Otis.  She worked as a clerk at Montgomery County Fiscal Court and loved to play games on the computer.

She is survived by a sister, Cynthia Edwards (Rodney Agee) of Mt. Sterling; brother, Billy Joe Edwards (Elaine) of Mt. Sterling, KY; nieces, Brittney Agee, Cassie Townsend and Courtney Townsend; nephew, Travis Edwards; special friends, Nellie Jones, Teresa Long and Norma Stidham; her co-workers, Mary Blevins, Wally Johnson, Gwen Clemmons, Carlie Willoughby, and Casey Puckett; and also, her friends at the PVA Office, Macie Vanderpool, Kimberly Hudson and Lindsey Hiler.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Carl Townsend.
