Clairece Lacey Campbell, 86, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at her residence. She was born December 17, 1939 in Montgomery County, KY to the late Homer and Beatrice Martin Combs. She attended Mt. Sterling Old Regular Baptist Church and retired from Hobart Manufacturing and A.O Smith as an Administrative Clerk.

She is survived by her sons, David Alan Campbell of Mt. Sterling, KY and William R. “Randy” Campbell of Ashville, NC; a brother, James Combs (Pam) of Mt. Sterling, KY; sisters-in-law, Mary Francis Ramey of Mt. Sterling, KY and Teresa Combs of Mt. Sterling, KY; a daughter-in-law, Dottie Campbell; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Campbell; a son, Ben Campbell; brothers, Robert “Bob” Combs, Buford “Buddy” Combs and Charles Ray Combs; a grandson, William David Campbell; and a nephew, Derrick Ray Combs.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, June 5, 2026 at Mt. Sterling Old Regular Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Boggs, Bro. Darrell Kidd and Bro. Ralph Slone, Jr. officiating, burial following at Johnnie Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Taul Funeral Home. Pallbearers will Robbie Combs, Justin Combs, Alec Combs, Chris Campbell, Anthony Combs and John Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Rhonda Tharpe, Gerald Tharpe, Dustin Back and Taylor Trimble. Clairece’s family would like to thank the caregivers for the last two years of care.
