Obituary

Daniel (Dan) James Freeman passed away on March 11, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on July 5, 1970, in Corning, New York, Dan was a man of remarkable capability who dedicated his life to building—whether it was in his career or his many friendships.

A proud 2004 graduate of Morehead State University, Dan's academic excellence earned him induction into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He translated that dedication into a distinguished career as a construction site manager. Dan was respected throughout the industry for his skill and leadership, overseeing projects ranging from high-end residential estates to the massive scale of city skyscrapers.

To those who knew him best, Dan wasn't just a site manager; he was the guy you called when you were in a bind. If your truck was stuck in the mud or your engine wouldn't start, Dan was already on his way with a grin and a tow rope. Dan never hesitated to lend a hand or a tool to a friend or a stranger alike. He lived for the simple joys: a crisp fall day hunting, the thrill of 4-wheeling through the Kentucky woods, and every single snap of a Pittsburgh Steelers game.

He had a soft spot for animals and was devoted not only to his own dogs but even to his sister's cat. Above all, he was a steady, helping hand for his parents and sister.

Dan is survived by his loving parents, Daniel M. and Sharon L. Freeman, and his sister, Robin Freeman. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and a helpful nature that will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
