Darrell Gene Ovington, 62, of Sharpsburg passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt.  Sterling. He was born September 10, 1961 in Mt. Sterling to Charles and Nancy (Garvey) Ovington of Flemingsburg, KY.  He worked at Nestle Corporation for over 10 years, loved UK Sports and attending car shows.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Carroll Ovington of Sharpsburg, KY; son, Charles Lewis Ovington of Lexington, KY; daughters, Chandra Dawn Frye of Monticello, KY, Kymberly Campbell (Chris) of Maysville, KY and Melissa Hope Barreto (Ray) of Flemingsburg, KY; a sister, Teresa Faye Pollock of Flemingsburg, KY; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a grandchild, Isaac Barreto.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lowell Rice officiating, burial at a later date at Longview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM- 1 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Desmond McAdams, Savon McAdams, Jaden Campbell, Jayston Taylor, Darren Ovington and Tony Wilson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Dickson, Janzen Dickson, Claudia Barry and Nicholas Pollock.
