David Ernest Greer, 86, of Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital Lexington.  He was born January 1, 1939 in Mt. Sterling to the late James Ernest Greer and Lucille Christine Murphy.  He attended First Church of God and retired from Rockwell International.  He loved and cherished his grandkids, Camargo and UK Basketball, playing cards and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Rose Greer of Mt. Sterling, KY; a son, Greg Greer (Lee Etta) of Frenchburg, KY; a daughter, Shannon Patrick of Mt. Sterling, KY; brother, Robert Greer (Diana) of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Hayden Holley, Landon Holley, Jordan Patrick (Tori), Kittie Perry (Jason) and Jenny Holland (Kelsey); and great grandchildren, Paxton Patrick, Navy Patrick, Eadlyn Holland and Wrenley Rucker.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Greer; and a sister, Carolyn Ginter.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Estill Adkins officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 12-1 PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Jordan Patrick, Mike Ginter, Steve Ginter, Rob Ginter, Kelsey Holland, Jason Perry, Chandler Reynolds and Taylor Rucker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Holley, Landon Holley, Tori Patrick, Jenny Holland, Kittie Perry, Wendell Frazier, Danny Parker and special friends.
