Donald E.
Crockett
Sep 12, 1936 — Dec 15, 2020
Donald "Daddy Don" Crockett went home to Heaven to be with the Lord. He will also be reunited with the love of his life, Joyce Mullins Crockett who had went ahead some six years ago to make sure everything was perfect for his arrival.
Donald was born to the union of Effie Mae McCarty and Robert Crockett. He was the youngest of nine children in this close-knit family.
From the moment Donald saw Joyce he told his friends that she was the woman he was going to marry. He began to pursue her with the love he felt for her and as she got to know him, the love was mutual. They married and began a life that had many ups and downs but the up-times far out numbered the down times. They raised four daughters who were loved completely by both of them.
Donald was involved in several successful businesses. He was partner in the delivery of Borden's milk to stores and homes. Later he was sole owner and added another milk company, Spring-Grove, to increase the company to cover three counties. Other businesses he worked and ran with Joyce included the Corner Restaurant, Shoppers Delight, DJ's Sweets & Eats and Crockett's Grocery Store. These businesses put him in contact with many people across the counties and it was rare that he could go anywhere and not meet someone he knew or knew him. He was a previous member of Church Board of Trustees, Junior Pro Basketball and played in church basketball league.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Mae Crockett, Pamela Gayle Agee (Michael), Joy Jeanne Crockett and Gloria Dee Crockett; three grandchildren, Michelle Deane Agee Slone (Andrew), Justin David Crockett (Lisa) and Brandon Allen Agee; nine great grandchildren, Billie Slone, Rigby Slone, Mags Slone, Allison Slone, Landon Crockett, Gatlin Crockett, Kolton Crockett, Madelyn Crockett and Alijah Parish-Agee; and siblings, William Crockett (Naomi, Deceased), Trudy Foley (Robert, Deceased) and Gary Rowland.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by siblings, Everett Crockett (Dorothy), Addie Mae Ford (Stanley), Pearl Lee Thompson (John), Lorena Ray (Burl), Mildred Louis (John) and Wanda Maggard (Earl).
Pallbearers will be Justin Crockett, Andrew Slone, Rigby Slone, Brandon Agee, Landon Crockett, Greg Hart, Roger Hart, Archie Otis, Holbert Owens, Randy LeMaster, Eric Jones and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers are all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Cramer Chandler, Gary Rowland, Larry Wagers and Dr. Muhammad Farhan.
Funeral Services will be held 1 PM, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Meadows and Pastor Dave Dooley officiating with grandchildren as speakers, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to First Church of God Youth Building Fund.
