Douglas Charles Gay, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, born July 22, 1962, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend whose kindness, humor and steady presence touched many lives.

Doug survived by his loving wife, Tina Gay; his daughter, Tabitha (Brian) Sewell; his son, Christopher (Brittany) Gay; and his stepson, Nathan Brown. He was a proud grandfather to Kiah Goodpaster, Lelia Sewell and Rylee Gay, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, David (Cynthia) Gay and his nephew, Caleb Gay.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, David C. Gay and Dorothy Gay.

Doug dedicated his life to serving others through his profession as a barber. He cut hair in Bath County for 40 years and Montgomery County for 4 years, building friendships and earning the trust of generations of families. Through the years, his chair became a place for conversation, laughter, advice and community. Many who came to Doug for a haircut left as lifelong friends.

Outside of work, Doug enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening and riding his motorcycle. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

Doug will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, his quick smile and the countless lives he touched throughout his years behind the barber’s chair. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the relationships he built. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Daulton officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12 PM-1 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Chris Gay, Caleb Gay, Tony Harris, James Collett, David Gay and Brian Sewell.
