Obituary

Ellis H. Reynolds, 97, of Mt. Sterling died Friday, October, 2, 2020.  He was born September 2, 1923 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.  He was a native of Montgomery County and the son of the late Haden Reynolds and the late Lou Etta Rose Reynolds.  He was a member of First Church of God and retired from the Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and a Farmer.  He served in the Army during World War II under General S. Patton in the Third Army in Normandy, Northern France, The Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge.  Earning the American Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Good Conduct World War II Victory, Combat Infantry and France Liberation Medals. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Barbara Chase Reynolds; two sons, Stephen Ellis Reynolds of Mt. Sterling and Jerry Douglas Reynolds (Debbie) of Nolensville, TN; two granddaughters, Hannah and Lauren of Nolensville, TN; and also nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Lowell "Doc" Reynolds, Earl Reynolds and Foster Glenn Reynolds; and one sister Virginia Cornwell. A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Curtis officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9-11 AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Phillip Holley, Scott Young, Edward Burton, Scott Reynolds, Mark Reynolds and Ronnie Diedrich.  In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
