Eula Klenk, born in 1933, died on July 4, 2026. She was born in Frenchburg (Mariba), KY. She graduated high school from the Frenchburg Presbyterian School in 1951. Eula attended the University of Kentucky. She met her husband Robert Klenk in the summer of 1953 while she was working a summer job at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, OH. They were married in 1956. In 1965, Bob and Eula had their one and only daughter, Cynthia. They lived in many places, met many wonderful friends, and went on many adventures. They finally moved back to Eula’s beautiful land in Kentucky in 1996, and built a home in which to retire.

Eula was a fan of life and everything that came with it! Known to many as Aunt Bird, she loved bird watching, she loved reading and singing with her sister, and she tolerated boating on Lake Erie. She loved sports but most of all, she loved her grandsons. She watched many hockey, soccer and football games, cheering the loudest in the stands!

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Klenk Luallen, son-in-law William Luallen, and grandsons Spencer (Abby) Luallen and Mitchell Luallen. She is also survived by her brother George Ellis Day and sister-in-law Patricia Day, sister-in-law Dorothy Day, and many important nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Robert Klenk. She was also preceded in death by her parents Robert Alvis and Elsie Northcutt Day, her oldest brother James O. Day, her sister Virginia Ann Day Powell and brother-in-law Robert E. Powell, her in-laws Wilheim and Luise Klenk, and her dear nephews James H. Day and Robert D. Day.

This is a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and nature education center, so please include your information so that you can get a tax deduction. They care for thousands of injured and orphaned animals every year, including many birds! Eula loved birds, and spent to tremendous amount of time in northern Ohio watching birds. The care of them was always very important to her.
