Obituary

With great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend, "Trudi", Gertrude Marie (Crockett) Foley on September 9, 2022, 96, of Mt. Sterling, KY surrounded by her loving family.

Trudi was born in Middletown, OH April 30, 1926 and moved shortly after to Mt. Sterling, where she later met the love of her life Robert J. Foley and they married in 1947.  They were married for 61 years.

Trudi was a member of First Church of God, Mt. Sterling for her entire life.  She served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.  She owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in Mt. Sterling for over 30 years.  She was known as the Merle Norman Lady, who loved and appreciated all her customers.

Trudi took joy being with her family, her loving husband and daughter.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had such a loving and giving heart to all who knew her.  She always had a smile on her face and a welcoming presence.  To know her was to love her.

She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Faulkner (Harvey) of Mt. Sterling, KY; three grandchildren, Dillon Faulkner (Amy), Caroline Wells (Shane) and Allison Humston (Tripp); Robert Faulkner, Bentley Wells, Presley Wells, Cole Humston, Brayden Humston and Brinkley Humston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Crockett and Effie Mae McCarty; her husband, Robert J. Foley; three brothers, Bill Crockett, Rev. Everett Crockett and Donald Crockett; five sisters, Ada Ford, Pearl Thompson, Lorena Ray, Mildred Lewis and Wanda Maggard.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Doley officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Dillon Faulkner, Shane Wells, Tripp Humston, Cole Humston, Brayden Humston and Josh Ingram.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Faulkner, Susan Carmichael and Florence Walters.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Ln Ste. 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
