Obituary

Helen Woosley Montjoy, 90, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away on February 10, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital - Mt. Sterling.  She was born October 1, 1931 in Montgomery County, KY to the late Ealie G. Woosley Sr. and Mayme Green Woosley.

She was a 1949 graduate of Owingsville High School and attended Morehead State College. She was a retired district office manager for the Cen-tel Cable TV Company.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling, KY for over 60 years. She enjoyed history, genealogy, gardening, travel, and antiquing. She was a member of the Montgomery County Historical Society. Her 5th great-grandfather served in the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War and she also  was a descendant of an original settler of Boonesborough.

Helen is survived by a son Nicholas G. Montjoy (Deborah) of Maineville, OH; a daughter Alice Miller (David) of Georgetown, KY; three grandchildren, Ben Miller (Vanessa), Rachel Kohler (Andy) both of Georgetown, KY, and Douglas Montjoy (Kathryn) of Pittsburgh, PA; five great grandchildren Sabrina, Caleb, and Alayna Miller, and Lewis and Paul Kohler.

Other survivors include a nephew Ronnie Diedrich of Jeffersonville, KY, one brother Billy W. Doyle of Tollesboro, KY, a sister-in-law Martha Woosley of Clay City, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George Paul Montjoy; three brothers, Caswell Woosley, Harold Woodford Woosley, and E. G. Woosley, Jr; and two sisters, Thelma Womack and Mary Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2:00 pm at  Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Reverend Chris Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery.  Friends may visit Tuesday from Noon – 2:00 pm at the Taul Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Mike McGuire, Ben Miller, Douglas Montjoy, Ronnie Diedrich, Kevin Diedrich, and Daniel Diedrich.
