Obituary

Henry David Black, 82, of Holly Hills Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at the St. Joseph- Mt. Sterling Hospital.  He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on July 19, 1939 the son of the late Ova J. and Lauda Susan Hall Black.  He was a veteran having served in the US Army, the retired President and CEO of Trader's National Bank, a member of the First Church of God, Treasurer for the City of Mt. Sterling, a Kentucky Colonel, a graduate of LSU School of Banking, the Treasurer for the Salvation Army of Mt. Sterling, a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club and he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Reva Black of Mt. Sterling, KY; two daughters, Terre Black Bartley and Tricia Black Anderson both of Mt. Sterling; a brother, Hugh (Carol) Black of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Mason David Anderson, Carson Christopher Anderson and Braylee Michele Bartley; and his namesake, David Pendleton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Black.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Sterling with Revs. David Dooley and Frank Curtis officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery.  Friends may visit Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Taul Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Chuck Vice, John Lee Crockett, Clarence Claypoole, David Pendleton, Jerry Jones and Jimmy Anderson.  Honorary pallbearers Bob Butler, Jimmy Wilson, Roger Conaster, Alan Peck,  Jim Costigan, Johnny Crouch, Deacon Jones, Ron Humphrey, Ron Tackett, Former Traders Bank employees and members of Mt. Sterling High School Class of 1957.  In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the First Church of God, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
