James R. Bramel, Jr., 71 of Mt. Sterling passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Joseph East Hospital Lexington, KY.  He was born November 25, 1950 in Bourbon County, KY to the late James Richard Bramel Sr. and Bertha Lavoye Bramel.  He worked for IBM and Toyota and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Martin Bramel of Mt. Sterling, KY; son, James Nelson Bramel of Jeffersonville, KY; daughter, Lisa Anne Bramel of Mt. Sterling, KY; brother, Catsby "Woody" Bramel (Joy) of Jeffersonville, KY; sister, Mildred Heflin of Paris, KY; and one grandson, Jacob Ison.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Samuel "Ed" Bramel; and sister, Janet Steuart.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robbie Conn officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 12-2 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Casey Bramel, Richard Bramel, Danial Bramel, Harry Sargent Jr, Chad Murphy and Kevin Lee Newton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Bramel, Tom Martin, Robert Martin, David Wheeler, Jacob Ison, Ronnie Brooks and Gary Lee Martin.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301.
