James L. Coffey, 78, of Mt. Sterling, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his residence. He was born February 9, 1941 to the late Vernon and Margaret Setters Coffey. He was a member of Camargo Church of God and Army Veteran 100th Division.  After retiring from Bundy Tubing as an engineer after 40 years, he spent his "retired" years working for Old Silo Golf Course as a marshall for 17 years, until recently for Coffey's Lawn Service, spending time with his grandchildren and playing as much golf as possible.

He is survived by one son, David Coffey (Christine) of Mt. Sterling, KY; one daughter, Cindy Williams (Steven) of Mt. Sterling, KY; two brothers, Vernon Coffey (Shirlee) of Mt. Sterling and Troy Pence (Ann) of Indiana; two sisters, Nancy Ann Crouch of Means, KY and Pam Richardson of Camargo, KY; and four grandchildren, Cameron Coffey, Alexandra Williams, Samantha Coffey and Sarah Coffey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Sue Ensor Coffey; one brother, Bobby Coffey; and one sister, Shirley Jean Coffey.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Camargo Church of God with Rev. Aaron Conn officiating and burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM, Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Camargo Church of God.  Pallbearers will be Cameron Coffey,  Charles Ensor, Jamie Profitt, Terry Lee Profitt, Ricky Matthews, J. Harris Adams, Jerry Long and Dudley Wilson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Rainey, Chuck Toy, Kramer Chandler, William D. Ricketts, Tucker Bailey, George Ensor, Steven Williams, Alexandra Williams, Samantha Coffey and Sarah Coffey.  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Ella's Outreach Food Pantry at Camargo Church of God. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
