James Congleton, 78, of Highway 599, Jeffersonville, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on February 12, 1943 the son of the late James W. and Mary Sue Cockerham Congleton.  He was a retired mechanic and farmer and Owner of Oliver Tractor Sales.  He was a member of the Christian Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Caskey Martin Congleton of Jeffersonville, KY; three sons, J. D. Congleton, Jr. of Jeffersonville, KY, Jonathan Scott Congleton of Lexington, KY and Benjamin Congleton of Lexington; one daughter, Tasha (Todd) Smith of Lexington, KY; two nephews, John and  Christopher Congleton; a niece, Susan Fletcher; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Bentley and Brody Jones also surviving.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Congleton and an infant son, Stephen Congleton.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Christian Assembly of God Church with Rev. Scott Barnes officiating and burial following in the Pleasant Valley Memorial Gardens in Jeffersonville.  Friends may visit Tuesday from 11 am - 1 pm at the Christian Assembly of God.  Pallbearers will be J. D. Congleton, Marty Prater, Damon Caudill, Drexel Patrick, Alonzo Prater and Jereme Prater.  In lieu of flowers donation are suggested to the Christian Assembly of God.   Taul Funeral Homes of Mt. Sterling in charge of arrangements.
