James (Jim) McGinnis, 66, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at his residence.  He was born July 31, 1958 in Chicopee, MA.  He was the owner of McGinnis Jewelers.  He had served on Montgomery County Board of Education, Montgomery County Ambulance Board, Chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party, State Republican Executive Committee, Montgomery County Board of Elections and Montgomery County Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Hart McGinnis of Mt. Sterling, KY; son, Nathan McGinnis (Mary McKinney) of Mt. Sterling, KY; daughter, Natalie McGinnis Vazquez (Joseph) of Mt. Sterling, KY; and grandchildren, Cameron Sexton, Sara Sturgell, Jake Sturgell, Abel Vazquez and Max Vazquez.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Murphy officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Nathan McGinnis, Cameron Sexton, Jake Sturgell, Joseph Vazquez, Jacob Crump, Brent Risner and Brandon Back.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rolling Hills Church of Christ, 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
