It is with heavy hearts that the family of James L. Russell, III announces his passing. On Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the age of 39. James will be lovingly remembered by his parents James Lawrence Russell Jr and Lajuania Oldfield Russell. His sister Brooke (Kevin) Burgher, and his two beloved nieces he adored Aria Burgher and Isabelle Burgher. As well as his brother Shem Russell; a sister, Lillian (John) Mallott; a grandmother, Ora Lee Arnett; special friends Conner, Kennedy and Sharon Blair and Sheradan Yocum; his loving four legged companion, Maxwell.

He loved all things sports, especially baseball. He graduated from Cumberland University on a scholarship for baseball. He never met a stranger, only a new friend. His boisterous laugh could be heard anywhere he went. We will miss his colorful personality. He was truly a man of all trades when it came to life. We miss and love him so very much.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Brooks Oldfield; step grandfather Mitchell Arnett; paternal grandparents, James Lawrence Russell and Lillian Jean Russell; and a special friend and Uncle Kevin Clarence Russell.

Funeral service will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Campbell officiating, burial following at Oldfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Shem Russell, Travis Ginter, Tyler Ginter, Trevor Ginter, Aaron Gandee, Connor Blair, Austin Willis and Jordan Postelnick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Love of Paws.
