James D. Sexton, 54, of Providence, RI passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Landmark Center Hospital in Woonsocket, RI.  He was born June 12, 1971 in Letcher County, KY to late Douglas and Anna Lou Sexton.  He enjoyed guns, fishing, working on vehicles and spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by a daughter, Summer Short (Cody) of Mt. Sterling, KY; a grandchild, George Short of Mt. Sterling, KY; cousins, Wendy Hesley of Letcher County, KY, Carolyn Wilson of Lexington, KY and Tony Hensley of Letcher County, KY; an aunt, Carolyn Hensley of Letcher County, KY; and a girlfriend, Nancy Tedesci.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an aunt, Janice Foster; and an uncle, John David Hensley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
