Obituary

Jeffery Wayne Toy, age 65, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Wayne was born on August 19th,1960 at Homestead Florida Airforce Base to William & Bonnie Jean Hunt Toy. He had a deep love for helping people and his funny and kind spirit was contagious. Always smiling, with a joke at the ready, he brought joy to everyone that knew him.

Wayne's greatest love was his family. He never missed a game or a concert and instilled in his children a deep appreciation for both sports and music. He passed along his love of rock n' roll, his talent for playing the drums, and his passion for the game of golf—traditions proudly carried on by his sons and grandson. He loved watching Oklahoma Sooners football and UK basketball. Wayne had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh, a talent that brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 45 years Cynthia Elaine Toy. Three beloved sons- Nathan Wayne Toy of Sante Fe, New Mexico; Tony (Jessica) Toy & Luke (Ashleigh) Toy of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. His sister-Melody (David) Bush of Altus, Oklahoma. His Aunt-Linda Cassidy of Lexington, Kentucky and three beloved grandchildren-Madeline, Jack & Charlie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family & special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother & father; three brothers-Greg, Billy & Stevie Toy and his sister Gail Vance.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2026 with visitation from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with funeral following at 1:00 pm at Mt. Sterling First Church of God.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Mt. Sterling First Church of God

Wayne has repeatedly expressed his gratitude for the support and kindness from his family, friends, company and community over the past 5 months. We are eternally thankful for the love and care each of you have provided during this time.
