Jerry R. Smallwood, 79, of Frenchburg passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his residence.  He was born December 30, 1941 to the late Simon Kenton and Rosa Lee Becraft Smallwood.  He retired from Mountain Ford in Hazard, KY.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Betty Jean Spencer Smallwood of Frenchburg, KY; one son, Steve Smallwood (Michelle Crouch) of Frenchburg, KY; one daughter, Susan Sponcil (Tim) of Mt. Sterling, KY; and four grandchildren, Jordan Smallwood, Brandon Smallwood, Kelsey K. Smallwood and Jakob Sponcil.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley "Sox" Smallwood and Dewey Pete Smallwood; one sister, Ester Smallwood; and one grandson, Simon Chase Smallwood.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel Mt. Sterling, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  A visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel Mt. Sterling. Pallbearers will be Jordan Smallwood, Brandon Smallwood, Jakob Sponcil, Josh Brown, Steve Cole and Jimmy Gross.
