Jimmy Rankin, 84, of Lexington passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at his residence.  He was born January 24, 1940 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late James and Virginia McIlvain Rankin.  He attended Eastland First Church of God in Lexington, he retired from UPS as a Truck Driver and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Grace Hiler Rankin of Lexington, KY; sons, Robin Rankin (Kim) of Georgetown, KY, Ricky Rankin (Anita) of Lexington, KY and James Rankin (Beth) of Lexington, KY; sister, Fredia Manley of Mt. Sterling, KY; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Manley; and a grandchild, Shawn Rankin.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Birch and Mike Stewart officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Robin Rankin, Ricky Rankin, James Rankin, Charles Cook, Lake Rankin, Mitchell Rankin and Jackie Wash.  Honorary pallbearers Ted Hiler, Russell Hiler, Forrest Hiler, Clayton Hawkins and Tasha Cook.
