Obituary

James Clarence Wilson, known to all as Jimmy, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Jimmy was born on July 22, 1943, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to Charlie and Mary Wesley Carrington Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Sterling, Kentucky where he built a life, career, and lasting connections within the community.

Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Connie Haddix Wilson, for 56 years, celebrating their anniversary this past July.

Jimmy was a member of the 1961 graduating class of Mt. Sterling High School, a 1965 graduate of Morehead State University, and served in the United States Army Reserves before starting his professional career as a well known and respected accountant.

He retired from Weaver Corporation in Paris, KY in 1996 and continued his work as a self-employed accountant and business consultant in Mt. Sterling and throughout Central Kentucky.

Jimmy loved supporting and cheering for the University of Kentucky basketball and football teams as a past member of UK’s 101 Club. He also enjoyed cutting up and visiting with anyone who crossed his path, playing ping pong with friends, and was always willing to share his advice- if you knew Jimmy, his advice was usually pretty good!

Above all, Jimmy was a genuinely giving person. Whether sharing his time, his knowledge, his advice, or simply lending a helping hand, he had a selfless way of giving to others without hesitation. His generosity was not just something he did; it was simply who he was.

While Jimmy had many accomplishments throughout his life, his greatest pride and joy were his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and the very best Pap to his three grandchildren. He treasured his family and took great joy in being involved in their lives and creating memories they will carry with them forever. His grandchildren thought the world of him and the love they shared was something truly special.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Wesley Carrington Wilson; his two brothers, Harold (Janet) Wilson and Donnie Wilson; his sister, Doris (Paul) Baxter, and brother in law Courtney Lykins.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Haddix Wilson; his daughter, Amy Wilson Frazier, and her husband, Jeff Frazier, of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; his son, James Andrew “Andy” Wilson, and his wife, Kaitlynn Wilson, of Cerulean, Kentucky; his three grandchildren, James Thomas “JT” Frazier and his wife, Abigail; Haddix Clare Wilson; and Miller Thomas Wilson; his sister, Janet Lykins of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; sister in law Sharon (Pete) Follett of Mount Sterling, KY; and sister in law Nancy Wilson of Mount Sterling, KY.

Jimmy will be remembered for his remarkable knowledge, quick wit, willingness to lend advice, and, most of all, his generous heart. He was loved by so many, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he called home.
