Joe E. Hedger, 79, of Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling.  He was born January 29, 1942 to the late Chester W. and Virgie E. Estes Hedger.  He was a member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ, Mason Lodge #23 Mt. Sterling and Mason Lodge #20 Winchester.

He is survived by his wife, Dainty P. Hedger of Mt. Sterling, KY; one son, William Joe Hedger of Winchester, KY; and three step sons, Cecil Clark Shrout (Kathy) of Preston, KY, Lyle Pernell Shrout of Indianapolis, IN and Clay Eric Shrout (Tena) of Mt. Sterling, KY; one daughter, Michelle Renee Hedger Edding (Michael) of Davenport, FL; one sister, Phyllis Carpenter of Mt. Sterling, KY; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rolling Hills Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Murphy and Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating, burial Clarmont Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held 11-1 PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rolling Hills Church of Christ.  Pallbearers will be Clay Shrout, Cecil Shrout, Austin Shrout, Michael Davis, Pernell Shrout and James Maney.  Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Peyton, Mort Reddix, Don Oney and Terry Kidd.
