John L. Jefferson, 72, of Mt. Sterling passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling.  He was born September 22, 1951 in Clark County, KY to the late Joseph and Roberta Barlow Jefferson.  He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from Pentair.  He loved to watch football and play golf.

He is survived by a daughter, Tami Moore (Daryl) of Mt. Sterling, KY; brothers, Jerry Jefferson of Mt. Sterling, KY, J.C. Jefferson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Nelson Jefferson (Gail) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Justin Jefferson of Mt. Sterling, KY; a sister, Vera Tabor of Winchester, KY; and one grandchild, Callie Moore.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Jefferson and Terry Jefferson; and sisters, Bonnie Sheffield, Linda Johnson and Kay White.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Friday, January 5, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church Mt. Sterling with Rev. Lloyd Latimer officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11:30 AM-1 PM, Friday, January 5, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Pallbearers will be J.C. Jefferson, Nelson Jefferson, Jerry Jefferson, Justin Jefferson, Josh Jefferson and Daryl Moore.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Fraley and Teresa Fraley.
