Joseph Lee Wilson, 73, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 12, 2026. He was at home surrounded by his family.

Joseph was born on August 26, 1952 to Harold Turner and Lucille Bohanon Wilson. He was a member and elder at Gateway Christian Church and a retired WIC supervisor for Kentucky Social Services.

Joe is survived by his brother, Eddie (Teresa) Wilson of Mt. Sterling; his son, Tom Wilson; his daughters Nora Reffitt and Kayla (Dakota) Dillon; his granddaughter Autumn Caudill; his great grandson Ryan Dillon; and two great granddaughters Lucy-Belle Dillon and Lily Reffitt all of Mt. Sterling. He is also survived by his sisters in law Carolyn Curtis and Donna Wilson; two brother in laws Frank (Judy) Curtis and Larry (Francis) Curtis.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy G. Wilson. 

The family will receive friends and family Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026 from 5-7 PM at Gateway Christian Church. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at Gateway Christian Church at 10 AM, Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Pallbearers will be Dakota Dillon, Tom Wilson, Connor Jackson, Brett Stamps, Wesley Lykins, and Kyle Chandler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of Willing Workers Bible School Class at Gateway Christian Church, Elders and Deacons at Gateway Christian Church.
