Obituary

Judy Johnson departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 7, 1957, in Morehead to the union of Jack "Gabby" Stone and Norma Stone.

Judy was a ray of light to everyone blessed enough to know her. She never met a stranger and could start a conversation with anybody. Her genuine personality, warm heart, and welcoming spirit naturally drew people to her everywhere she went. She had a special way of making people feel comfortable, loved, and appreciated.

Judy loved life and cherished her family deeply. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, going to yard sales, and finding the best deals wherever she could. She especially loved watching birds each day, always keeping an eye out for her favorite cardinal, which she believed was a comforting sign from Heaven.

Judy's strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Through multiple battles with cancer, she fought courageously and never backed down. Even during the hardest times, she continued to show unwavering love to her family and reminded everyone to live life to the fullest, cherish every moment, and do the things that bring joy while health allows.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, J.S. "Gabby" Stone and Norma Stone; her beloved husband, Robert Johnson; and her sisters, Carolyn Ingram and Peggy Becraft.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children by birth: Bridgette (Alex) Antonio of Camargo; Anthony (Kassandra) Johnson of Canton; and Dustin Johnson (Elizabeth) of Louisville. She also leaves her children by love: Tanya Johnson, Robert Johnson, Tracey Johnson, Nichole Earls, and Chad Johnson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, KY with Rev. Arthur Douthitt, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026.
