Kenneth Elmer Shelley, 80, of Mt. Sterling passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at VA Medical Center-Lexington.  He was born July 27, 1941 to the late Carlos and Lula Branham Shelley.  He was a retired farmer and an employee of Rockwell International.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Herta Shelley; three sons, Rainer Shelley (Sheri) of Fleming Island, FL, Donnie Shelley of Lexington, KY and Larry Shelley (Angie) of Mt. Sterling, KY; a daughter, Sonia McCarty (Pat) of Carlisle, KY; two brothers, Billy Shelley of North Middletown, KY and Jerry Shelley (Judy) of Columbia, SC; a sister, Sue Elam (Gene) of Paris, KY; four grandchildren, Samuel Shelley (Madison), Jessica Shelley, Nicklaus McCarty (Page) and Carlton McCarty; and four great grandchildren, Brionna Woody, Brittni Woody, Brian Woody Jr. and Bricen Woody.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Shelley; three sisters, Betty Ferguson, Josephine Petitt and Daisy McCarty; and a granddaughter, Heather Woody.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 7, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Barnes and Bill Shoemaker officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 4-6 PM, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Brown, Samuel Shelley, Nicklaus McCarty, Carlton McCarty, Danny Elam and James McCarty.
