Obituary

Kevin Phillip Keller, 55, passed from this life Thursday evening, April 29, 2021 after a six-month illness and hospitalization.  He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Paul and Edith Clay Wills Keller. He will be sorely missed by his sister and guardian, Harriet V. Keller of Louisville, his brother, Paul Allen Keller of Avondale, Arizona, three nieces, four nephews, two great nieces, two great nephews, and a great many other  treasured relatives and friends.

Kevin was born October 3, 1965 in Mt Sterling, KY. He attended Montgomery County Schools and First Baptist Church Mt Sterling.  He lived his last twelve years in Louisville, KY where he was cared for under the auspices of the Tri-Generations Agency by his Family Home Provider, Vicky Saling, and attended Mariposa Adult Day Health Center. Kevin loved Jesus, church, family, music, performing, playing, and partying. Of his many favorite songs, his all-time favorite, which he loved to sing at karaoke as well as in church, was "The Old Rugged Cross." His many and varied interests provided a lifetime of enjoyment and connections with others. His zest for life, his joyous spirit and his enjoyment of making others happy brightened the lives of all who knew him. He considered himself rich to have the love of family and so many friends, teachers, helpers, caregivers, and supporters.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY 40299, with visitation from 3-4 p.m., and the service at 4:00 p.m.

A second service will be held at Taul Funeral Home, 109 East Main Street, Mt Sterling, KY 40353, on July 15, 2021, when more of Kevin's out-of-state family can be present. Visitation will be 12N - 2:00 p.m. with the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery in Mt Sterling, next to his parents.

In addition to Christmas and his birthday, three favorite events to which Kevin looked forward year-round were Camp Freedom, the  Shine Gala (both sponsored by the Shine Disabilities Ministry of Southeast Christian Church) and the annual Down Syndrome of Louisville  Run-Walk-Dance, sponsored by Down Syndrome of Louisville.  Kevin was also very concerned about cancer patients and loved to wear his cancer ribbon t-shirts. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Shine Disabilities Ministry of Southeast Christian Church, Down Syndrome of Louisville or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
