Obituary

Larry Ray Peck, 70, of Wellington, KY peacefully passed away at his residence after an extend illness, on Monday, January 11, 2021.  He was born October 12, 1950 in Menifee County, Kentucky, a son of the late Fieldon and Mary (Rhule) Peck.  He was an Army Veteran, being stationed in Germany as a Tank Operator in 3D Squadron, 11 th Armored Calvary Black Horse Squadron, which he took great pride in.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator, mechanic, musky fisherman and antique car enthusiast.  He was a Ford man through and through.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Wanda (Brown) Peck; one daughter, Michelle Peck Trusty (Tim); a special sister-in-law, Becky Brown, whom he loved as a daughter; one grandson, Matthew Trusty; one bonus granddaughter, Courtney Trusty Caudill (Brandon); two bonus great granddaughters all of Wellington, KY; one brother, Bobby Peck (Connie) of Lawrenceburg, KY; one sister, Bonnie Lou Ingram of Frenchburg, KY; and a host of other family members and friends to mourn his passing.

He was a devoted family man, his family meant everything to him.  He loved children and they loved him.  Nothing could compare to the joy he had when he became a Papaw.

He was a kind, compassionate, tender hearted, easy going man.  He loved helping others and never expected anything in return.

Larry lived to love and loved to laugh and make others laugh.  His humor was quick witted and contagious.  He never met a stranger.  Even throughout his illness he never failed to bring humor to any situation.  If he taught us anything during his time on earth, it was to not take things so seriously, laugh, have fun and never fail to say, I love you.

A graveside service will be held 4 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Power's Cemetery in Frenchburg, KY with Shelby Peck and Dennis Flannery officiating.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Peck, Jim Havens, Billy Cox, Steve Cornett, Gary McCoy, Micky Ratliff, Marty Clark, David Clark, Mike Helton, Rick Crain, Johnny Fugate and Richard Thomas.
