Leonard W. Thompson, 86, of Frenchburg, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Edgewood Estates in Menifee County, KY.

Leonard was born on October 28, 1937 to the late John Thompson and Ruth (Stamper) Thompson. Leonard served his country in the US Navy and the US Army. He retired as a Master Welder from Hyster Manufacturing in Berea, Ky. Leonard served as a Residential Council Committee Officer at Edgewood Estates (2017-2018). He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Lexington, KY prior to his move. Leonard was a man of faith and he often spoke about his relationship with Jesus.

Leonard is survived by his beloved nieces, Tamala Disney of Middletown, OH and Teresa McLaughlin (Michael) of Middletown, four great nieces, Angela, Tonya, Erica and Stephanie and four great nephews, Tim, Joseph, Drew and Joshua, two great grand nephews and ten great grandnieces; and special friends and neighbor, Ben and Pat Turpin of Lexington, KY.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Anna D. Thompson, his twin brother, Jimmie K. Thompson, Sister, Betty Jo Thompson and a beloved nephew, Jack J. Byrd.

A graveside service will be held at Mack Cemetery on Saturday, June 1, @ 11:00 AM, with Martin Stamper officiating.

A private memorial service will be officiated by great nephew, Drew Disney (Ali) of La Porte, TX.
