Obituary

Lillian Robinson was a retired Montgomery County School secretary and bookkeeper.  She worked at Montgomery County High School and Mapleton Elementary starting in 1956 and continued working in the Federal Programs, Adult Education and Community Education for over 50 years.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church for close to a hundred years.  After retirement she became Treasurer of the Montgomery County Senior Citizens and continued active in that organization for several years.  She was an avid UK Basketball, Montgomery County Athletics and Cincinnati Reds fan traveling from Crosley Field, Memorial Coliseum, Rupp Arena, The Barn, Cunningham Field and the Arena.

She was a prolific quilter, with several hundred finished quilts, may pieced together by hand.  Her home on Hinkston Pike and later Dare Drive, was the spot for family Holiday gatherings, birthday parties, sports teams' pool parties and memories that will last forever.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Whitt of Mt. Sterling, KY; son, Jimmy A. Robinson (Debby) of Mt. Sterling, KY; two granddaughters, Maria Whitt and Micah Fawns (Billy Ray); grandson, Gabe Robinson (Kerry Gagnon); great grandchildren, Luke Fawns, Erin Fawns, Jessica Jones (Daniel) and Lilly Whitt; great great grandchildren, Madalyn Jones, Sophia Rosania and Cole Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and many Church and Community and School Friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Asa N. Robinson; parents, Roger and Helen Stephens; sisters, Helen Wingate and Estelle Riggs; brothers-in-law, Hursel Wingate and Ray Riggs; daughter, Loraine P. Robinson; and son-in-law, Larry Whitt.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM, Monday, April 25, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Wells and Bryan Begley officiating. Visitation will be held 11 AM-12 PM, Monday, April 25, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  A private family burial will be held at Machpelah Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Gabe Robinson, Billy Ray Fawns, Luke Fawns, Daniel Jones, Martin Riggs, Bradley Lane, David Chamness and Dale Lane.  Honorary pallbearers will be Roger and Ann Riggs, Stephen and Susan Riggs, Julia and Ernie Begley, Gary and Connie Wingate, Peggy and Dave Kiefer, Mary Helen and Pat Poole, Jan and Bill Chamness and Richard and Gay Robinson.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Montgomery County Board of Education, 3400 Indian Mound Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY, 40353 for MCHS for Educational Purposes in Memory of Lillian Robinson.
