Lorena Saunders, 85, of Dothan, Alabama, formerly of Sharpsburg, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on June 17, 1937 the daughter of the late Freed and Jennie Cline Hunt. She was a retired factory worker at Kentucky Textiles in Paris, Kentucky and a member of the Family Worship Center. She was a very dedicated and hardworking woman to whatever task was at hand. She was a great caregiver, loved yard sales and thrift shops and coloring. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Jennie (Clarence) Francis of Dothan, Alabama, Rebecca Razor of Bethel, KY and Rachel Saunders of Mt. Sterling; three brothers, Tommy Hunt of Salyersville, KY, Billy (Marie) Hunt of Bethel and Ricky (Regina) Hunt of Olympia, KY; four sisters, Dorothy (Danny) Daughtery, Oda Hunt, Betty McFarland and Alisa (David) Dailey all of Bethel, KY; six grandchildren, Cheryl Davis of Mt. Sterling, Christopher Bussell of Owingsville, Corey Razor of Bethel, Patrick Carolin of Florida, Rebecca Carolin of Mt. Sterling and Andrew Saunders of Florida; and great grandchildren, Amber Kincaid, Gavin Kincaid, Dylan Davis, Jakeob Razor, Waylon Razor, Everly Razor, Daniel Lane McCarty, Charlie Cundiff, Maci Cundiff, Miley Cundiff, Noah Carolin, Luke Carolin, Alexis Bussell and Conner Bussell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Leo Saunders, Jr.; six brothers, Harold Hunt, Walter Hunt, Willie Hunt, Dick Hunt, Ronnie Hunt and Willard Hunt; and two sisters, Barbara Cray and Roberta Branham.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Doug Routt officiating and burial following in the Longview Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10 am - 2 pm at the Taul Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gavin Kincaid, Dylan Davis, Patrick Carolin, Andrew Saunders, Daniel McCarty and Corey Razor. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Shrout, Jake Razor, Waylon Razor, Charlie Cundiff, Glenn Davis and Graham Martin.
