Marcus Scott Hurst "Scotty", 44, of Mt. Sterling passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at University of Kentucky Hospital.  He was born February 2, 1977 to Mark Hurst  of Mt. Sterling, KY and Rhonda Potts (Glenn) of Mt. Sterling, KY.  He was a member of Gateway Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sons, Logan Easterling of Tennessee, Austin Hurst of Mt. Sterling, KY and Brandon Hurst of Mt. Sterling, KY; a brother, Nick Hurst of Louisville, KY; a sister, Angie Hurst (Jessie) of Mt. Sterling, KY; four aunts, Dee Goldy (Dwayne), Linda Ferguson (Jerry), Teresa Barnett (Chris) and Judy Hoffman; a nephew, Braxton Centers; a niece, Destiny Hawkins; a special friend, Jenni Hurst; and several cousins, great aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Mary Bowling, Leonard Hurst and Mary Lou Garrell.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Kilgore officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11-1 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Dwight Overstreet, Chad Willoughby, Sean Howard, Eric Howard, Garrison Toy and Jordan Breeze.
