Mario Humberto Guerra, 89, born in 1931 died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at his home in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family.  Mario was a proud and faithful servant to God.  He was a warm and generous soul who lit up every room with his laugh and smile.  He was also an avid and passionate fisherman who was always willing to share his advice on the sport along with a great story or two.  Mario was devoted to his family especially his late wife of 63 years, Alicia Guerra.  The two were true soulmates, and God knew they were not meant to spend much time apart on earth.  They were both called to celebrate in His Kingdom within the same month.

Mario is survived by his brother Rafeal Guerra and his sisters, Silvia Guerra, and Martha Salinas.  Mario is also survived by his 5 children, Alicia Guerra, Mayra Schwarz, Mireya Whitaker, Mario Guerra II, Alejandro Guerra and their respective spouses, as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asbury University, Trevor Whitaker Memorial Scholarship, 1 Macklem Drive Wilmore, KY 40390.  Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
