Matthew M. Cockrell, 43, of Mt. Sterling passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at University of Kentucky Hospital.  He was born April 4, 1978 to Starr Cockrell Conner (Charles) and the late Wesley Morgan Cockrell. He was a member of Gateway Christian Church and worked for Cognitant-Technical.

He is survived by his mother, Starr Cockrell Conner (Charles) of Mt. Sterling, KY; one brother, Michael Cockrell (Diana) of Jeffersonville, KY; one niece, Kaitlyn Cockrell; and one nephew, Michael Wesley Cockrell.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Chandler officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  A visitation will be held 12-1 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Michael Cockrell, Josh Chandler, Charles Webb, Kevin Ginter, James Chandler, Mark Chandler, Jarred Chandler, David Charles, Tyler Mason and Phillip Moore.
