Matthew Wayne Walters, 48, of Mt. Sterling passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his residence.  He was born July 19, 1976 in Morehead, KY to the late Austin Walters and Marilyn Kay Green.  He attended Shepherd's Chapel Church and worked Griffin Gate Resort.

He is survived by his life partner, Bernetti Walters of Mt. Sterling, KY; sons, Nolan Walters (Melissa) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Kyle Smith (Megan) of Mt. Sterling, KY; a daughter, Briannia Kiser (Kaleb Vanover) of Mt. Sterling; sisters, Missy Walters, of Hope, KY, Jeanette Donald (Larry Martin) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Julie Caldwell of Mt. Sterling, KY, Janice Rawlings (Dean) of Frenchburg, KY, Patty Edger (Rick Banfield) of Means, KY and Beverly Lawhorn (Kevin Forrester) of Jeffersonville, KY; and grandchildren, Olivia Cruz, Emma Vanover, Wyatt Smith, Caroline Smith and Jasmine Perkins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Walters.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Evans officiating, burial following at Fortune Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Austin Walters, Isaac Moore, Aiden Walters, Kaleb Vanover, Nolan Walters and Ralph Short.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Forrester and Kyle Smith.
