Melissa J. Smith, of Mt. Sterling passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling.  She was born in Russellville, AL to the late James Smith and Lou Corbell Smith.  She was of the Protestant Faith.

Melissa was a 25-year veteran of Hollywood studios and production companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Studios, NBC and Lorimar-Telepictures.  She and her husband spend their time playing with their two extremely spoiled cats, Bogie and Bette, who are the inspirations for Mack and Mabel in the Luce and Wilde Hollywood Mysteries series.  She was a member of American Film Institute, Emmy Awards and Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Sciuto of Mt. Sterling, KY.

A private graveside services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024.  Pallbearers will be Paul Sciuto, Sal Sciuto, Bo Queen, Bradford Queen, Joseph Sciuto and Ted Hiler.
