Merdy "Buddy" Steele, 78, of Mt. Sterling passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital. He was born September 25, 1941 to the late Harry and Margaret Stephens Steele. He was a member of Faith Builders International Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Jeanne Palmer Steele; one son, Phillip Steele (Michelle) of Little Rock, AR; one daughter, Angela Gazaway (Mark) of Less Summit, MO; ten grandchildren; and thirteen grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Steele and Mike Steele; and three sisters, Joyce Seamen, Elaine Cornwell and Vicky Williams.

A private family graveside service will be held Friday, April 17, 2020 at Quillen Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Steele.
