Meryl Nickell, 77, of Mt. Sterling passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at University of Kentucky Hospital.  He was born April 28, 1945 in Dayton, OH to William'O Nickell and Ethel Lee Hughes Nickell.  He was a member of Hope First Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Collinsworth Nickell of Mt. Sterling, KY; a son, Jason Nickell (Whitney) of Lexington, KY; daughter, Kim Stamaties (Tony) of Mt. Sterling, KY; brother, Ronald Nickell (Mary) of Virginia; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Steven Nickell; brother, Beryl Nickell; and four sisters, Irene Back, Louise Hayslett, Nelda Nickell and Ruby Kincer.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lowell Rice officiating, burial following at Ezel Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-1 PM at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Tony Stamaties, Jason Nickell, Jason Hall, W.T. Booth and Bill Nickell.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward the funeral expenses at Taul Funeral Home, 109 East Main Street, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
