Michael E. Bussell, 68, of Carlisle passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital Lexington.  He was born January 23, 1953 to the late Everett D. and Viola Farris Bussell.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church, retired National Guard and a Farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Ratliff Bussell; one son, Shawn Bussell of Carlisle, KY; two daughters, Krista Bussell of Moorefield, KY and Julie Bussell of Moorefield, KY; one brother, David Bussell of Paris, KY; two sisters, Wilma Bond of Lexington, KY and Wanda Mathes of Moorefield, KY; five grandchildren, Kara Hyden (Jon), Michael Clay Bussell, Joshua Hatton, Evan Hatton and Trey Treadway; and two great grandchildren, Noah Hyden and Kali Hyden.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Hunt.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Henderson officiating, burial following at Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11-1 PM, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Shawn Bussell, Mike Berry, Mason White, Sammie Vice, Barkley Caswell, Michael Clay Bussell and Josh Hatton.  Honorary pallbearers Ricky Willoughby, Nate Allison, John Hyden, Dylan "Pickle" Rawlings, Richard McDonald and David Bussell.
