Obituary

Millard B. Petitt Jr. would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer he couldn't refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, telling stories, and laughing to his heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. He left detailed instructions for his family and friends to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed.

Jr., as he was known by everyone, came into this world on Friday January 15th, 1937 and on Friday May 29th, 2020 at the age of 83, he departed this earth to make his home in heaven. His parents were the late Millard and Mary Susan Virginia Petitt of Sharpsburg.

Jr. was an active member of the Reynoldsville Christian church where he currently served as an elder. He previously served on the church board, and also had held the position as a deacon. He was Christian man who loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly.

Jr. worked as a teller at Sharpsburg Citizens Bank for many years, but his passion was the land. He farmed his entire life and received the award of Outstanding Young Farmer in recognition of exceptional progress in agriculture and contributions to the community.

This man was known by many and loved by all who knew him. He was a great story teller and the type of person that when he talked, those around him wanted to listen. He believed that no matter what happened in life, you should always be good to people.
